Deutschlandticket
For 63 euros per month, the Deutschlandticket is a personal, non-transferable subscription that can be cancelled monthly and entitles the holder to any number of 2nd class journeys on local public transport throughout Germany. The Deutschlandticket is valid on rnv's flexible individual passenger shuttle (fips).
If you use your ticket subscription in the rnv/VRN mobile phone ticket app, your Deutschlandticket will be displayed there. Customers who have chosen the chip card for their subscription will receive a card. Please note that the travel authorisation without a photo is only valid with a valid photo ID.
Frequently Asked Questions about the Deutschlandticket - FAQ
The Deutschlandticket entitles you to any number of 2nd class journeys on local transport (train, tram and bus) throughout Germany. It is not valid on long-distance trains (e.g. ICE, IC, EC). The Deutschlandticket is valid on the rnv flexible individual passenger shuttle (fips). It is a personal, non-transferable travelcard without a take-along rule.
New customers can buy the Deutschlandticket conveniently online or in person at our mobility centres.
You can order the Deutschlandticket in Abo-Online until the 20th of the month for the following month. You will receive an order confirmation by e-mail when you complete your order. The mobile phone ticket or chip card will be sent to you in the following days after an internal check. You can order the Deutschlandticket in our mobility centres or by order form up to the 10th of each month for the following month.
The Deutschlandticket is available as a mobile phone ticket and as a chip card. It is not possible to purchase the Deutschlandticket from a ticket machine.
Chip cards for the Deutschlandticket are always issued without a photo.
Please note: The Deutschlandticket without a photo is only valid in conjunction with a valid photo ID, for school pupils with a valid school ID or a valid school certificate.
If you lose your chip card, you have the following options:
- Simply switch your ticket to a digital subscription at abo.rnv-online.de or
- Visit us at one of our mobility centres and you will receive your replacement ticket immediately for a processing fee of 20 euros

To issue a season ticket in the rnv/VRN Handy Ticket app, you need a smartphone with the iOS or Android operating system. You can download the app from the respective store.
Payment for the Deutschlandticket can only be made by direct debit.
Subscription fees are collected on the 1st working day of the month of validity.
Passengers outside the rnv service area can also purchase the ticket conveniently and easily from rnv.
You can manage your data in Abo-Online at any time. If you live in the West Palatinate, you can also do this at your subscription support centre. You can find them here.
The best way to cancel your Deutschlandticket on time is via Abo-Online. You will receive confirmation of cancellation directly by e-mail. Alternatively, you can also cancel your subscription using our contact form. You will then receive a confirmation of cancellation by post in the following days. You can only cancel your travelcard in this way if you have purchased your travelcard from rnv. If you have purchased your travelcard from another transport company, please contact them.
Please note: It can be cancelled up to the 10th of the month to the end of the month. From the 11th of the month, you can only cancel to the end of the following month.
Sozialpass Mannheim
The Deutschlandticket will be subsidised by the City of Mannheim for Social Pass holders from July 2023. Social Pass holders can choose between the Deutschlandticket and the 5-trip tickets. Further information can be found here.
Please note the order deadlines for the Deutschlandticket. Deutschlandticket orders for the following month must be placed by the 10th of the previous month.
Heidelberg-Pass - #hd4mobility
Do you use the Deutschlandticket as part of #hd4mobility as a Heidelberg Pass holder at discounted rates? Provided you have a valid Heidelberg Pass or Heidelberg Pass+, you can continue to use the Deutschlandticket for 34 euros per month.

Hessenpass
Yes, those entitled to the socially subsidised Hessenpass mobil will also receive a discounted Deutschlandticket in 2026. It will cost 44 euros per month from 1 January 2025. Walldorf Pass
From 1 January 2026, the city of Walldorf will subsidise the Youth Ticket BW or the Deutschland-Ticket for eligible young people from Walldorf with 20 percent of the costs in the form of a voucher. The subsidy is provided via the Walldorf Pass. Letters of authorisation are available from the Citizens' Office during the opening hours of the Town Hall. This can then be used to place online orders with Rhein-Neckar-Verkehr GmbH at https://abo.rnv-online.de/Abo will be possible.
From 1 January 2026, the BW Youth Ticket will regularly cost 540 euros per year (45 euros per month), minus the subsidy of 432 euros (36 euros per month) for young people from Walldorf. It is valid nationwide on local transport and is available for people under the age of 21 without proof and for trainees, students and volunteers up to the age of 27 with proof. From 1 January 2026, the Deutschland-Ticket will regularly cost 756 euros per year (63 euros per month); this amount will be reduced to 604.80 euros (50.40 euros per month) for eligible young people from Walldorf thanks to the municipal subsidy.
The city of Walldorf would like to support the mobility of young people with the subsidy approved by the municipal council in September 2025.
If you need to provide proof of authorisation to order or renew a season ticket, you can upload it to Abo-Online. To do this, log in to https://abo.rnv-online.de under "Abonnement Verwalten" (manage subscription) with your rnv login, select the contract for which you would like to upload proof of authorisation and add it under "Anlagen" (attachments). When uploading, make sure that the front and back of the proof of authorisation are clearly legible.

From January 2026, it will no longer be possible to purchase social tickets for local public transport in Ludwigshafen for the time being. The reason for this is the current budget situation of the city of Ludwigshafen and the associated conditions.
