D-Ticket JugendBW
With the D-Ticket JugendBW, young people in Baden-Württemberg can travel by bus, tram and train throughout Germany and in the VRN network area at any time and on any occasion for 45 euros per month. It is valid on the rnv flexible individual passenger shuttle (fips). The D-Ticket JugendBW is a personalised annual pass. It is non-transferable and does not offer the option of travelling with others.

The D-Ticket JugendBW for young people is a low-cost annual ticket offer from the state government, the Baden-Württemberg transport associations and the local authorities.
The D-Ticket JugendBW is valid in 2nd class on all local buses and trains in Germany and in the entire VRN network area. In addition, the D-Ticket JugendBW is valid in the call taxis in the VRN network area.
You can use the D-Ticket JugendBW:
- All persons under the age of 21 who live in the Baden-Württemberg part of the VRN
- Pupils and students up to the age of 27 who live, attend school or university in the Baden-Württemberg part of the VRN (on presentation of proof of education)
- Trainees and volunteers up to the age of 27 who live in the Baden-Württemberg part of the VRN (on presentation of proof of training)
The D-Ticket JugendBW is debited monthly. Each of the 12 instalments amounts to 45 euros.
The D-Ticket JugendBW was launched on 1 December 2023. Children, teenagers and young adults up to the age of 27 who fulfil the requirements will receive the D-Ticket JugendBW as a mobile phone ticket in the rnv/VRN Handy Ticket app or as a chip card.
Eligible persons can order the D-Ticket JugendBW conveniently online at abo.rnv-online.de and at our mobility centres.
For young people in Baden-Württemberg, the rnv login and thus the route to the mobile phone ticket has recently become available from the age of 10. The changeover from the chip card to the mobile phone ticket is also only possible via the legal representative and their rnv login. Pupils in Rhineland-Palatinate with fully subsidised tickets receive a chip card as usual.
The D-Ticket JugendBW is an annual ticket that is paid for monthly. The minimum subscription period is one year. After that, the annual subscription can be cancelled on a monthly basis. Students can cancel the subscription within the first year of the contract after six months with a notice period of three weeks to the end of the month.
The D-Ticket JugendBW is an annual ticket, the expiry date of the annual ticket can be viewed in the Abo-Online portal.
All persons under the age of 21 who live in the Baden-Württemberg part of the VRN do not have to do anything. Your D-Ticket JugendBW will be automatically extended.
Pupils and students up to the age of 27 who live, attend school or university in the Baden-Württemberg part of the VRN must submit a current proof of education each year to renew their D-Ticket JugendBW. This can simply be uploaded to the Abo-Online platform.
Trainees and those doing voluntary service up to the age of 27 who live in the Baden-Württemberg part of the VRN must submit a current proof of training each year to renew the D-Ticket JugendBW. This can simply be uploaded to the Abo-Online platform.
Children, young people and schoolchildren with a Heidelberg Pass or Heidelberg Pass+ receive a monthly subsidy of 11 euros from the city of Heidelberg, so that their own contribution amounts to 34 euros per month. In order for the subsidy to be granted, a valid Heidelberg Pass or Heidelberg Pass+ must be presented at the Heidelberg Mobility Centre.

From 1 January 2026, the town of Walldorf will subsidise the Youth Ticket BW or the Deutschland Ticket for eligible young people from Walldorf with 20 percent of the costs in the form of a voucher. From 1 January 2026, the Youth Ticket BW will regularly cost 540 euros per year (45 euros per month), less the subsidy for young people from Walldorf 432 euros (36 euros per month).
The subsidy is provided via the Walldorf Pass. Letters of authorisation are available from the Citizens' Office during the opening hours of the Town Hall. Orders can be placed immediately via Abo-Online at https://abo.rnv-online.de/Abo possible.
If you need to provide proof of authorisation to order or renew a season ticket, you can upload it to Abo-Online. To do this, log in to https://abo.rnv-online.de under "Abonnement Verwalten" (manage subscription) with your rnv login, select the contract for which you would like to upload proof of authorisation and add it under "Anlagen" (attachments). When uploading, make sure that the front and back of the proof of authorisation are clearly legible.

No. The D-Ticket JugendBW is only valid in second class. It is not possible to transfer to first class, even if you purchase a 1st class supplement.
The D-Ticket JugendBW is valid around the clock on all days.
No. The D-Ticket JugendBW does not include a take-along rule.
No. The D-Ticket JugendBW is a personal ticket that cannot be transferred.
The D-Ticket JugendBW ends either when it is cancelled or when the conditions for purchasing the ticket no longer apply, i.e. at the end of the month in which the subscriber turns 21 or 27 or completes their further education or training.
At the end of the first subscription year, you can cancel the ticket by the 10th of the month on the 1st of the following month. Students can cancel their subscription within the first year of the contract after six months with three weeks' notice to the end of the month. You will then receive a confirmation of cancellation by post in the following days.
You will find your customer number on your account statement under the reason for payment (subscription/customer number and contract number) and in your personal area in Abo-Online (if you have ordered via Abo-Online or are already registered with Abo-Online). You will also find your customer number on the cover letter of the chip card (if you have selected "Chipkarte" (chip card) as the issuing medium. Please keep the letter for this reason).
