The special service

Like a bus, only much smaller: as a special form of public transport, on-call taxis serve fixed stops on demand. Just like bus routes, they operate according to a fixed timetable, but must be ordered in advance if required. On-demand taxis supplement the timetable, especially in rural areas or remote neighbourhoods. So you can stay mobile at the weekend and in the evening.

This is how it works:

Depending on the line, request the on-call taxi 30 or 60 minutes before the respective departure time by calling the central telephone number 0621/1077077 or online in the VRN journey planner and travel with your Deutschlandticket or D-Ticket JugendBW, for example. For passengers without a season ticket, special fares apply, which are set by the respective municipalities. You can find out more at our mobility centres and at www.vrn.de.

Ordering a taxi from the driver

We will order a taxi for you: Speak to our drivers. We will order a taxi for you by radio to your desired stop. As a passenger, you are responsible for the cost of the taxi journey.

Women's night taxi in Heidelberg

The women's night taxi is a special service offered by the city of Heidelberg for women aged 14 and over whose main residence is in Heidelberg. Vehicles from the Heidelberg taxi centre are available to girls and women from 10 pm to 6 am (for women aged 60 and over from 8 pm to 6 am). Tickets for the Women's Night Taxi are available from the Heidelberg City Council offices for seven euros.

Flexible stops in the evening

Between the bus stops: From 8 p.m., you also have the option of getting off between regular bus stops if it is feasible given the traffic situation. Simply inform the driver in good time of your wish to stop.
