Infrastructure requests
We check construction enquiries from private developers (e.g. new house construction or renovation, roofing or façade insulation work, etc.) in the vicinity of our facilities and driveways and determine the potential impact on our infrastructure and operations. We will provide you with a statement containing any necessary requirements and guaranteeing safe operation when carrying out construction work.
We will be happy to answer your questions about authorisation agreements (e.g. for catenary masts on your property or wall anchors on your building).
We are also available to you as a contact for properties (e.g. land, etc.) of rnv and its parent companies.
We review construction enquiries regarding pipeline measures in the vicinity of our facilities and railway lines to determine the impact on our infrastructure and operations. We will send you a statement containing any relevant conditions and ensuring safe operation during the execution of construction measures.
In addition, it may be necessary to conclude a crossing agreement in the event of enquiries regarding the crossing and longitudinal laying of lines (electricity, gas, water, waste water, telecommunications, district heating, etc.) with our railway facilities. The basis for crossing agreements is provided by the NE crossing guidelines based on the Deutsche Bahn crossing guidelines
We review projects from road authorities, such as new bypasses or the widening of existing roads or bridges that affect rnv's facilities, and determine the impact on our infrastructure and operations in the planning process. If necessary, a crossing agreement in accordance with the EKrG or a cost absorption agreement is concluded.

In order to take the interests of local public transport into account, rnv is involved by the authorities as a public authority. This takes place, among other things, in the case of third-party construction measures, neighbourhood participation, planning law procedures, land use plans, development plans, noise action plans, etc.
Road authorities, energy supply companies as well as public and private construction companies in the area of rnv's facilities, roadways and properties can obtain information on lines from us. This takes the form of an as-built plan enquiry, which generally provides information about the existing facilities/lines in the planned construction area in the rnv as-built plans.
Planning information shortly before the start of construction can only be processed within 14 days if an infrastructure enquiry has already been submitted to us in advance, for example by an authority or a line carrier, and we have given our consent (see above).
All construction work in the area of rnv's facilities, roadways and properties requires prior authorisation and, if necessary, instruction by rnv personnel. Infringements will be prosecuted, disruptions to operations and the repair of damage to infrastructure facilities will be charged to the person responsible.
Please contact our Infrastructure Enquiries team in good time, at least four months before the start of construction. This lead time is required in order to plan diversions or rail replacement services, for example. We would like to point out that these lead times must be taken into account when planning your measures. In the event that disruptions to our operations can be ruled out, the lead time can be reduced to six weeks.
