Open Day 2026
On Saturday, 10 October, it’s that time of year again: we’re opening the gates to our depot and inviting you to our Open Day. From 12 noon to 6 pm, we’ll be delighted to welcome you once again to this free event at our Mannheim depot at Möhlstraße 27.
Fancy driving a tram yourself? If you’ve always dreamt of doing so, this is your chance. Our rnv driving instructors will guide you through the depot and even award you a “Straßenbahndiplom” (tram driving certificate) at the end. Would you rather try out the tram simulator? With the FahrSim, you can practise driving a tram just like our trainee drivers do.
New this year is the driving simulator for our buses. In it, you can literally experience for yourself what it’s like to steer a public service bus through the streets and alleys of the metropolitan region.
Our colleagues will be on hand at information stands to answer any questions you may have about the Pfalztram and the rnv site concept. We’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have about timetables, fares and route maps, as well as other transport services such as the ‘Flexible Individual Passenger Shuttle – fips’, together with our partners at our information stands.

All children can look forward to a colourful programme: our bus school, a children’s circus, face painting, a bouncy castle, a merry-go-round, a mini tram and much more will round off the 2026 Open Day.
Getting here
To get to the depot, rnv is running vintage trams which shuttle free of charge between Mannheim city centre and Möhlstraße. The exact route and timetable can be found in the leaflet in the downloads section.
In addition, the rnv depot is also easily accessible via rnv’s regular trams and buses: Take bus route 61 directly to the Möhlstraße stop, tram line 1 to the Krappmühlstraße stop, or tram lines 6/6A and 9X to the Planetarium stop.
