Born in Oggersheim, he studied business administration at the University of Mannheim, specialising in transport companies, public enterprises and economic geography. During this time, Christian Volz discovered his future professional field of activity - local public transport - by working as a tram driver during his studies. After completing his studies, the business administration graduate worked in a managerial role for various transport companies before taking over the commercial management of rnv on 1 September 2014.

Martin in der Beek can draw on a wide range of experience thanks to various career stages. The graduate computer scientist (FH) began his professional career at Albtal-Verkehrs-Gesellschaft mbh in Karlsruhe. There, Martin in der Beek became Head of Transport Planning in 1992 and was involved in the development of the Karlsruhe transport network. Eight years later, Martin in der Beek became Head of the Operations Department at Verkehrsbetriebe Karlsruhe. He finally moved to rnv in mid-2007 and has been its Technical Managing Director ever since. He is also an ambassador for local public transport in the Rhine-Neckar region on various committees of the Association of German Transport Companies (VDV) at state and national level.
