Night-time closure on Steubenstraße and Handschuhsheimer Landstraße

Due to track maintenance work on Handschuhsheimer Landstraße in Neuenheim and Steubenstraße in Handschuhsheim, the light rail line will have to be closed on the nights from Monday, 2 February until probably Friday, 6 February 2026, between 9 pm and 4 am on the following day. This will affect the operation of lines 5, 21 and 26.

Line 5

• Diversion in both directions between the stops Hans-Thoma-Platz and Gneisenaustraße Süd
• Additional service to the Heiligenbergschule, Technologiepark, Bunsen-Gymnasium, Chirurgische Klinik, Betriebshof and HD Hauptbahnhof West stops
• Cancellation of the stops Kapellenweg, Blumenthalstraße, Kußmaulstraße, Brückenstraße, Bismarckplatz, Seegarten, Stadtbücherei, Stadtwerke and HD Hauptbahnhof
• Replacement bus service in the direction of Handschuhsheim from Bismarckplatz (platform C) with service to the stops Brückenstraße, Kußmaulstraße, Blumenthalstraße, Kapellenweg, Hans-Thoma-Platz (platform G) and Johann-Fischer-Straße
• Replacement bus service (SEV) in the direction of Bismarckplatz from Burgstraße (replacement stop) with service to the stops Hans-Thoma-Platz (replacement stop), Kapellenweg, Blumenthalstraße, Kußmaulstraße, Brückenstraße, Bismarckplatz (platform I)

Line 21

• Diversion in the direction of Bismarckplatz between the stops Jahnstraße and Bismarckplatz
• Additional service to the stops Betriebshof, HD Hauptbahnhof, Stadtwerke, Stadtbücherei and Seegarten.
• Elimination of the stops Volkshochschule, Campus Bergheim and Altes Hallenbad

Line 26

• Shortened route between the Kirchheim Friedhof and Bismarckplatz stops
• Passengers travelling in the direction of Hans-Thoma-Platz use lines 5 and 21 from the depot, or the SEV from Bismarckplatz
