Once again this year, the Wurstmarkt – the world’s largest wine festival – will be attracting thousands of visitors to Bad Dürkheim. During both festival weekends, Rhein-Neckar-Verkehr GmbH (rnv) will ensure a comfortable and stress-free journey to and from the event.
Compared with normal services along the Rhein-Haardtbahn (RHB) line, rnv is offering significantly more services on all event days, thereby providing noticeably greater capacity between Bad Dürkheim and Ludwigshafen or Mannheim. On Fridays and Saturdays, for example, there are almost twice as many trains as usual, whilst on Sundays there are just over 60 per cent more. Additional services are also available on Mondays and Tuesdays.
During the Wurstmarkt, rnv will deploy longer vehicles on routes 4/4A and 9X to maximise capacity. Service intervals are also significantly reduced, which is why on Fridays and Saturdays trams run at frequent 10-minute intervals. During the day, instead of every 30 minutes, trams will run every 20 minutes between Bad Dürkheim and Ludwigshafen or Mannheim.
