Deviating operation due to track renewal along Friedrichsring

Due to track renewal work on the light rail line between the Nationaltheater and Wasserturm stops, the line will be closed from Thursday, 19 February until probably Friday, 15 May 2026. This will affect the operation of lines 2, 5, 5A, 7 and 15 and also the bus lines 60, 61 and 64.

Line 2

• Diversion between the Alte Feuerwache and Nationaltheater stops
• Additional service to the Kurpfalzbrücke Ost and Gewerkschaftshaus stops
• No service to the stops Kurpfalzbrücke, MVV-Hochhaus, Dalbergstraße, Rheinstraße, MA Rathaus/rem, Paradeplatz, Strohmarkt, Wasserturm and Rosengarten
• Passengers travelling to and from the city centre use lines 4 and 7 from and to the Alte Feuerwache

Line 5

• Diversion in the direction of Edingen Bf between the Nationaltheater and Kunsthalle stops via the Gewerkschaftshaus, Kurpfalzbrücke Ost, Abendakademie, Marktplatz, Paradeplatz, Strohmarkt and Wasserturm stops.
• Diversion in the direction of Käfertal Bf between the stops Kunsthalle and Nationaltheater via the stops Wasserturm, Strohmarkt, Paradeplatz, Marktplatz, Abendakademie, Kurpfalzbrücke Ost and Gewerkschaftshaus
• No service to the Rosengarten stop
• Please note the destination film on the vehicles in the city centre!

Line 5A

• Diversion from the Nationaltheater stop via the stops Gewerkschaftshaus, Kurpfalzbrücke Ost, Abendakademie, Marktplatz, Paradeplatz (Steig D), Strohmarkt and Wasserturm
• From MA Hauptbahnhof continue as line 15 in the direction of Wallstadt Ost
• No service to the Rosengarten stop

Line 15

• Diversion from the Universitätsklinikum stop via the stops Theresienkrankenhaus, Nationaltheater, Gewerkschaftshaus, Kurpfalzbrücke Ost, Abendakademie, Marktplatz, Paradeplatz (Steig A/B), Schloss and Universität
• From MA Hauptbahnhof continue as line 5A in the direction of Heddesheim Bf
• Stops at Schafweide and Alte Feuerwache are cancelled

Line 7

• Diversion from the Universitätsklinikum stop via the stops Schafweide, Alte Feuerwache, Kurpfalzbrücke, MVV-Hochhaus, Dalbergstraße, Rheinstraße, MA Rathaus/rem, Paradeplatz (Steig D), Strohmarkt, Wasserturm, Kunsthalle and MA Hauptbahnhof
• No service to the Theresienkrankenhaus, Nationaltheater, Rosengarten, Marktplatz and Abendakademie stops

• From MA Hauptbahnhof continue as line 7 in the direction of Vogelstang

   

• Diversion in the direction of Vogelstang from MA Hauptbahnhof via the stops Universität, Schloss, Paradeplatz (Steig A), MA Rathaus/rem, Rheinstraße, Dalbergstraße, MVV-Hochhaus, Kurpfalzbrücke, Alte Feuerwache and Schafweide
• No service to the stops Rosengarten, Wasserturm, Strohmarkt, Paradeplatz (platform C), Marktplatz, Abendakademie, Gewerkschaftshaus, Nationaltheater and Theresienkrankenhaus

Bus lines 60, 61 and 64

• Service of the Wasserturm stop from different platforms:
• In direction to the MA Hauptbahnhof stop: Platform D (by the Nextbike station)
• In direction to the Fernmeldeturm, Pfalzplatz or Käfertal stops: platform E (Opposite, at the level of the Kunsthalle tram station, at the edge of the road)
