FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions About the rnv Online Ticket Shop
In the rnv online shop, you can buy selected tickets at home and print them out on your printer or send them to your mobile phone.
The following tickets are currently available in the online shop:
- Day ticket
- Day ticket family
- Day ticket group
- Monthly ticket
We didn't want to bother you with tariff zones and price levels when ordering tickets. That's why we've found a simpler solution: If you enter the start and destination stops and, if necessary, the date and time, we will determine the correct price level and other important information for issuing the ticket.
No. The ticket is valid within the areas of validity printed on the ticket:
- Day Ticket, Day Ticket Family, Day Ticket Group: The price level and the starting tariff zone are printed on the ticket.
- Monthly ticket: The price level and the individual tariff zones are printed on the ticket. The monthly ticket is valid on all VRN transport within the specified tariff zone. If routes within the city fares are entered, these are printed, e.g. Mannheim city fare.
The route requested when ordering is also printed on all tickets.
The rnv online ticket shop only offers tickets that are valid for a longer period of time.
For spontaneous travellers, there is the Handy Ticket App or the airline fare.
Ticket subscriptions such as the Deutschland-Ticket, D-Ticket JugendBW or the D-Ticket Job can be ordered and managed in the Abo-Online portal.
To order from one of our online services, the access data must be complete. This also includes the security question. You can choose from the following:
- Name your favourite animal.
- What is your favourite colour?
- What is your mother's maiden name?
- What is your favourite food?
The security question is required if you want to reset the password for your rnv login - for example, if you have forgotten it. The security question is designed to ensure that only you can reset the password. The answer you enter to the question must be entered when requesting the new password. This is to prevent misuse of newly created access data.
The technical requirements for purchasing tickets in the rnv online shop are a PC (Windows XP Home/Professional/Vista or higher) or MacOS 10.x or higher, Internet Explorer 8.x or higher for Windows, Mozilla Firefox 3.x or higher for Windows, Safari 3.x or higher for Macintosh and Windows, a printer and an e-mail address.
You will receive the ticket as a PDF file for printing. You will need a PDF reader for this, e.g. the free Acrobat Reader. To prevent problems, you should temporarily deactivate any existing ad blockers.
Tickets purchased in the online shop are non-transferable. The tickets are only valid together with an official photo ID. All tickets can be downloaded and printed out immediately after completing the order. Your name, date of birth and date of purchase will be printed on the ticket.
At the end of the ordering process you will find the link "Ticket jetzt ausdrucken" (print ticket now). As soon as you click on this link, the ticket will open as a PDF and you can print it. You will also receive a link that you can use to download the ticket in PDF format by e-mail. You can also log in to the online shop at any time with your user data and print your valid tickets again.
Please note that print tickets cannot be refunded.
After selecting the desired ticket, you will be asked for your rnv login details. If you have not yet entered any, you will be asked to do so at the appropriate point. Once you have confirmed the link, your registration is complete. The rnv login details ensure that the ticket you have purchased is only allocated to you.
With the rnv login data, you can also use the rnv/VRN Handy Ticket app or our subscription online portal “Abo-Online” without having to register again. Your e-mail address and password serve as identification features here. For your security, please use an e-mail address that is only accessible to you and keep your password secret. The personal data you enter can be transferred to the order process.
Please note that if you deactivate your user data, you will no longer be able to use any access to our online services, such as Abo-Online, the online shop and the rnv/VRN Handy Ticket app. Tickets that are still valid will then no longer be accessible to you. If you use a personalised ticket subscription in the rnv/VRN Handy Ticket app, you must change the issuing medium and apply for a chip card (lead time: 1 week). Your subscription contract continues to exist even without rnv login data and requires separate cancellation. All further information on this can be found in the VRN fare regulations.
Would you like to deactivate your subscription or do you have further questions? Then please contact our customer service team using the contact form. When deactivating your login data, an internal check is required first. Please provide your first and last name, e-mail address and date of birth. Your data will then be anonymised.
Payment is made conveniently by direct debit or credit card (Visa, Mastercard).
Please note that due to a necessary data update, data verification and thus ticket purchase is only possible on the day following registration or re-registration.
