Mission Statement
The mission statement with its thematically organised 10 guiding principles is intended to provide orientation for day-to-day activities. It is an aspiration and an obligation for all employees.
We, Rhein-Neckar-Verkehr GmbH, offer the citizens of the metropolitan region safe, attractive and environmentally friendly mobility. We want to continue to expand this mobility sustainably and responsibly in the future. This makes us an important partner for the cities and municipalities in securing and further developing local transport services and contributing to a high quality of life in the region.
The Rhine-Neckar region is one of the seven economically strongest conurbations in Germany. The economic power is developing just as much as the cultural offerings and leisure activities.
With our well-developed rail network in the major cities, we ensure that the cities remain attractive for residents and accessible for visitors and commuters as shopping and business locations. At the same time, we also ensure mobility in rural areas. The rnv bus lines provide connections to city districts and smaller communities wherever the rails do not (yet) go. In leisure transport, we offer direct connections from the city centres to attractive excursion areas with our railway lines to the Bergstrasse and the Weinstrasse.
The public transport authorities, the cities and municipalities, also have to save money in local transport due to tight budgets. We must therefore act economically and cost-consciously. Our shareholders founded rnv in order to be able to provide high-quality transport services at low cost.
We are convinced that a reliable service is an important criterion for the awarding of transport services and that the public transport authorities are then also prepared to provide sufficient financial resources. The further development of rnv offers us the opportunity to organise our daily work even more efficiently. This is the only way that direct awards of transport services to rnv can remain attractive for the cities in the future.
We are in competition with our services: our competitors are other (supra-) regionally active public transport companies and motorised private transport.
We want to optimise the balance between costs, quality and revenue for our customers and public transport operators. Our aim is to satisfy our customers within a justifiable economic structure, but not to be the cost leader.
We can only secure a stable market position if the quality of our services is convincing. This is what our customers pay us for. We will attract new passengers to local public transport if we fulfil their mobility needs through punctuality, speed and reliability: We seek dialogue with our customers and tailor our services to their needs as far as possible.
We are a reliable partner for environmentally friendly mobility. We want people in the metropolitan region to be able to be mobile without their own car and therefore see ourselves as a mainstay of the environmental network.
We act in an environmentally conscious manner every day with our services. In our endeavours to reduce traffic density, improve air quality and reduce noise, buses and trams are an indispensable alternative to private transport. By using new technologies, we are constantly improving the environmental friendliness of our transport services and our operating sites.
Innovations enable us to utilise market opportunities, reduce costs and increase efficiency. This is why we keep abreast of the latest advances in science and technology and utilise new findings for the success of rnv, for example through the use of energy storage technology in the light rail vehicles.
We are innovative ourselves. We are constantly looking for new ways to optimise our work processes. This requires us to question old ways of doing things, have the courage to change and be open to new developments.
We work in teams and project groups in a collegial and trusting manner. We develop solutions to our tasks together in open and constructive communication. We also utilise the wealth of knowledge and experience gained in the parent companies for new, optimal and sustainable strategies at rnv.
We seek personal dialogue and use this to pass on company-relevant information. This means an "open door policy". Our behaviour and our daily work are characterised by fairness, mutual respect, reliability, tolerance and trust. We see this as the basis for successful co-operation.
Process-orientated thinking enables us to view tasks from different perspectives. This enables us to recognise risks and opportunities at an early stage. Together, we continue to develop rnv's strong position.
We are aware that our actions have an impact beyond our own area and we take responsibility for this.
We owe our success to the skills, commitment and performance of all our employees. We support personal initiative to develop and implement new ideas.
We know that only well-trained employees can be successful. Active personnel development is one of our top priorities. We promote the training and further education of our employees and tailor the appropriate measures to each individual.
Process-orientated structures and corresponding responsibilities enable us to adapt flexibly to changes. We see solution-orientated lateral thinking as an important source of new opportunities for action. We are committed to an employee-orientated management style. This includes fair treatment, mutual respect and appreciation of the individual. Feedback is an important factor for open communication with each other and with our partners.
The motivation to contribute to the success of a cause can vary from individual to individual; however, the common goal of all employees is a successful rnv.Our success is based on commitment, flexibility, personal responsibility, proactive action and the utilisation of our own area of expertise.
We also use our independence for self-correction, because everyone not only has the right to make mistakes from time to time, but also the duty to learn from them.
We set ourselves future-orientated, measurable goals. This makes us independent, successful and brings us closer to our corporate vision. Through our personal commitment, we increase the satisfaction of our customers and thus create an essential prerequisite for sustainable corporate success.
We all represent rnv. Both within the company and in public, our appearance determines the image of rnv.
Therefore, as ambassadors of rnv, we not only want to act in an exemplary manner internally, but also convince the public of our efficiency. We want our customers to appreciate our work.
We are the regional, municipal and integrated transport company in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region. In close coordination with the cities and regional public transport authorities, we provide the agreed transport services as cost-effectively and to the highest quality standards as possible. We draw up proposals for our public transport authorities for the market-driven further development of our services in terms of type, scope and quality and see ourselves as a central point of contact for all questions relating to public transport.
Optimum cooperation with the cities and the region, as well as with the legacy transport companies and their group companies, ensures our competitiveness and the long-term preservation of our jobs.
